The Chinese like performing a fair amount of “small muscle training” with the idea that shoring up the weaker links will aide in improved performance overall. Coach Wu (@wuchuanfu) likes to say, “If your small muscles are weak, then you will have difficulty expressing your power.”
Small muscle training can be anything from getting your triceps stronger to aide in a better lockout to performing extra ab and low back work to tighten up the armor. Or, as the Chinese like to enjoy, behind the neck work such as these kipping/butterfly behind the neck pull-ups to build the lats and build more awareness in the rack area.
